A Special Invitation

The mail we recieve as a wedding planner isn’t all marble-lined envelopes and sugary cake samples. There are a lot of brochures, a lot of mail drops and lots of admin.

But sometimes, just sometimes, we receive some rather special invitations.

Last month, a beautiful grey textured envelope with gold calligraphy landed on the Beattie Bailey doorstep...

The invite?

A party at Kensington Palace

The party was hosted by the Rhubarb - the deliciously different caterers. Who have a show-stopping portfolio: jaw-dropping events, mind-blowing parties and a list of fabulous clients.

This evening was no exception. 90 event planners, including ourselves, and a selection of luxury brands were taken on a breathtaking, colourful journey into a world of food, drink and floral creativity.

Colourful food stations were set-up alongside a beautiful stretch marquee on the Western Orangery lawns where we were indulged with generous treats: Miso glazed lobster, siracha creme sauce and mackerel tartare with samphire and gin.

Champagne flowed and the last of the summer sun set.

Dinner was held under the boughs of a magnificent flower tree, created by floral designers Wild at Heart, surrounded by autumnal dahlias and soft candlelight.

The food - colourful, delicious, precise - every fine detail impeccably considered.

We were then treated to sweet dessert cocktails, chocolate cigars and s’mores in a tipi tent on the Eastern Orangery lawns.

A wonderful evening. A host of truly inspiring, creative and generous suppliers...

...and an invite that will sit proudly on the mantlepiece for some weeks to come.
